Out of the Studio

Spring is finally here, and I've been dying to get out of the studio. Wardrobe was provided by Lola's vintage in Allston, Model: Annie McKelvey. I'm hoping I can use both for final port, but I have a feeling a certain Frenchman won't let it fly.

Michelle

Is this my style? Maybe so- either way, I feel I'm getting closer. Using the orange seamless, and with some summertime clothes I was able to brighten up the studio- Don't know which one I'll use for the final. Unfortunately, I can't use both. Thanks again to model, Michelle!

Enjoy!

Heather Freer Facebook Fanpage

I finally decided to create a fan page on facebook for my photography. Social media- as much as I hate it sometimes - is a great tool for promotion and marketing. It's also a great way to separate my personal life from my photography. However with final portfolio review coming up in May it seems to have taken OVER my personal life. It's a good thing I love it.

Please check out my fan page on Facebook.
Click on "like" and get updates on my recent work :)

Anneline

My advertising instructor has pushed me to pinpoint a particular style. I believe this is a challenge of not just every photographer, but artists in general. I do see a style in many of my very talented colleagues, and as thrilled as that makes me, it also really drives me to find an artistic style I can call my own. I believe that this image may represent a part of what my photography is about. With the help of the lovely and talented Anneline Smal- I was able to capture something that I definitely want to see more of.

Little Miss Annie

8am on any given day isn't fun. This shoot happened to be on a Sunday at 8am- big difference. With a groggy photographer and model, we were able to pull it together and come out with a great shot. Big thanks to Annie McKelvey for her rockstar poses and adorable Kardashian romper. Tell us what you think!

The Beauty of Make-Up

For this shoot I wanted to focus primarily on the face and make-up. Bre made such a perfect model for this shoot. I wanted a dramatic light for her absolutely beautiful features. Big thanks to Kate Kelly for her make-up and lighting assistance.

Gaga Meets Marc Jacobs

My original plan was to go Gaga with this photoshoot. I realized if you were to put Lady Gaga and Marc Jacobs together this would be their love child. I'm influenced by edgy fashion, and the images that go with it. The next few shoots I plan to get out of the studio and into the streets. Let's hope the weather plays nice.

Ode to Vogue

I've always been drawn to ethereal imagery. To me it screams femininity and grace. The lighting was much more difficult than I could have imagined, but after everything, I'm simply in love with the results. With my model Ellie, and friend Kate Kelly assisting- it was a great team. I thank them both for making my vision a reality.

"Rooftop" Fashion Shoot

This is my very first green screen attempt, minus a few things it actually came out as I had drawn up in my head. It was a great learning experience, and it looks like I'll be using this technique often. Thanks again to my amazing model Abbey!!

Enjoy.

Puppet Fashion

I see a lot of fashion ads that in my opinion almost poke fun at themselves, as to say "I know it's ridiculous, and over-the-top, but deal with it, it's fashion" I tried to create that with the shot this week I like to call puppet fashion.

Creepy can sometimes be good. ;)

Fabric Fashion Shoot

This has definitely been one of the most challenging shoots thus far. Once again- I created the wardrobe out of fabric, clips and lots of pins. I absolutely love the result and once again would like to thank my favorite model Kaitlyn King for her patience. It was not an easy task for any model.

Paper Dress Shoot

For this shoot I channeled my inner project runway contestant and created this dress out of paper, mesh wire, lots of tape and clips. I had Tim Gunn's famous tagline "make it work" running through my head, while also trying to figure out what the shot would look like. With the help of my amazing model Kaitlyn King we were able to collaborate and get some really amazing shots.
I'm looking forward to my next shoot, and hoping that the wardrobe won't be as unpredictable.

Wired Cover

My roommate and I had come up with an idea for a super hero shoot long ago. I can't exactly remember how we came up with this but I do remember it revolved around a cape.
What better excuse for a super hero shoot than my Advertising final which was to create a wired magazine cover. As you know wired is a nerdy guy's dream. It always features stories on new gadgets, films and of course- women.
This has to be one of my favorite shoots to date. AND with the photoshop skills I've learned I am just amazed that I could actually pull it off!
